About Me
My name is Samim Biswas, and I completed my B.Sc. in Agriculture with First Class Honours from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV) in June 2025. Since December 2025, I am working as a Research Assistant at the Regional Research Station (Coastal Saline Zone), BCKV, India, where I conduct research work throughout the Indian Sundarbans.
As a resident of the coastal Sundarbans, my roots are deeply intertwined with this unique and fragile ecosystem. This personal connection has shaped my commitment to mangrove restoration and climate resilience. My research approach combines ecological science with community-oriented solutions to enhance restoration success and long-term sustainability. While my work is grounded in nature-based solutions, I’m also curious and open to exploring broader environmental and interdisciplinary fields. With sea-level rise and climate change threatening both ecosystems and livelihoods, I am dedicated to serving my community by promoting adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable restoration of coastal ecosystems for a better future.
Alongside my research, I’ve developed strong leadership and interpersonal skills. I enjoy working across teams, translating complex findings into something meaningful. I have always enjoyed taking the initiative and helping others. Over the years, I have taken part in extracurricular activities and volunteered with the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Kulgachhi Youth Welfare Club (KYWC) to support students and the community. These experiences have helped me develop confidence, effective communication, and management skills.
